Ed Nissen, LCSW
My name is Ed Nissen. I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) specializing in empowering people to be the best version of themselves by overcoming anxiety, depression, and career challenges. I do this by teaching a simplified approach to life’s obstacles efficiently and confidently. My method focuses on enhancing your potential across all life aspects, enriching relationships, and fostering personal growth.
Life can be challenging to navigate, and sometimes unfortunate things happen. How you respond to life defines much of who you are. Perhaps, what you will discover to be most important is a profound enrichment of the relationships in your life.
If your soul feels restless, if something unseen is calling you deeper, you’re not alone. Therapy can be a space to name what no longer serves you and listen for what wants to emerge. When you're ready to walk the sacred edge between who you’ve been and who you could become, I’m here to walk with you.

I have written a book entitled “Song of the Hero”.
This project started in June 2018 and was published in 2023.
Song of the Hero is an exploratory analysis for how men, who are in long-term relationships, have stalled in their growth and relationships, what they can do to correct themselves, and how to transcend a diminished version of themselves all through the challenges presented by their feminine partner. The concepts and theories explored in the book are viewed through the lenses of analytical and evolutionary psychology, biology, neuroscience, and behavioral economics, with an undertone of mythology. To illuminate the rather technical analysis of the concepts and theories, I have interwoven a fictional story of a couple’s relationship. Using relatable experiences to illustrate the ideas in the book helps bring them to a manageable level on which the reader can easily translate them into implementable strategies in their personal lives.
